Only 40 years ago ,,my very $ conserving neighbor had his kids straighten bent nails if they wanted to watch TV.He built pallets and pounded them in with regular hammers.Im not sure where the heck he got so many bent nails for free...was a very hard working man,,,his neighbor shot him in the back while on his ATV and killed him over a land boundary,,,His son told me of the bent nails just recently.
