The Palouse North Idaho | If they are really using HALON , that's why it's expensive. I worked in the aircraft business (engineering) and retired 24 years ago. Unless something has changed, HALON is no longer manufactured because of the "Ozone Hole Issue". Only aircraft fire extinguishing use is allowed until the industry can develop an equivalent extinguishant. SO no HALON has been manufactured for about 30 years IIRC. As aircraft are retired, the HALON is recovered for reuse in newer airplanes. I'm surprised anybody would propose a HALON system for ag use. | |
