I'll be an a hole here. So say he was killed because of this. His family sues Polaris claiming this is a known safety issue. They win a 10 million dollar settlement. Sure their insurance company will pay the claim. This is also why things cost so much. In the long run it would have been cheaper to just send an update to everyone.
