Subject: Use a TV screen with a computer?

Watford City, ND
I currently live in a small one bedroom apartment whilst I'm teaching. I'd like to buy a new computer, but not a labtop. If I were to by a tower computer (regular computer), is there some how I could plug it into my TV to use that for the screen? I have a 36" flat screen that has about a dozen or so ports to plug into. Is there any way that I could connect a computer to a TV? I have a wireless mouse and keyboard already. I'd love to be able to sit and watch TV, and flip back and forth between computer and TV.

Let me know if its been done, or how a guy thinks he could do it. Thanks,

Later.
