Iowa | We have dial-up and it is terribly slow. Had the local wireless provider out to the farm, and since we are in a valley, signal wasn't good enough. We know that a satellite will work as we have Dish Network and DTN dishes on our house currently. Heard about Agristar and called them. They said while they use Hughes satellites, they are a different company and have Tech support located in Iowa, not India like Hughes, and do not have the many problems we hear about with Hughes.Told me they are rated #1 in customer satisfaction for sat. internet and signal would be bad only during storms similar to what we occasionally see with our Dish Network TV. They also have an Ag package that will allow us to drop our DTN. Said their "100" service will provide downloads of around 600, and their "200" will allow 850 to 900 downloads and multiple users. We also need internet in metal shop about 175 foot from house where dish would be, he said no problem with a wireless router and an antenna. He said professional installer would do it all.
This just about sounds too good to be true, but I'm sure leaning towards trying it. Any and all comments welcomed and appreciated | |
