Subject: Dry weather soybean pop

Penn Yan, NY
We plant 160,000 normally on all of our ground. I figure if germ is 90% that puts us at 144,000 pre weed control. Tune weeding and cultivating can take out another 10% so now down to 130,000.

We are extremely dry for this area this time of year with nothing in the 10 day but quite a few days near 90F.

If we are thinking about population for drought stress should we go up and figure each plant will do less or go down so that there’s less competition for water?
