Finger Lakes | Our house in town has an asphalt shingle roof with a continuous ridge vent. The plastic type placed along the ridge then capped with shingles. Red squirrels have chewed through the plastic and gained access to the attic space. I've only had one contractor look at it so far. He wants to replace it with the same style, but made from heavier plastic. I wasn't there to talk to him, so couldn't voice my concerns. I can't see that lasting. Is there a better ridge vent available? Has anyone had a similar problem? I'm meeting with another roofer next week. Thanks | |
