Subject: RE: Squirrels chewing through Ridge vent

RR Valley, ND; MN native
I don't know if there is another ridge vent type.

Prior owner of my house used plastic roof vents when they shingled. Same issue, red squirrels chewed through the plastic screens on them and were in the attic. It got real bad one winter and I went up there on the snow and ice with chicken wire and screws to try keep them out until I could replace the vent assemblies with steel ones. Those worked and no squirrels in the attic since.

Those little red ones are very aggressive getting into stuff. Had one get in the cellar once and chewed up a lot of stuff and wiring too. I have since found and sealed all access points.
