Subject: Synthetic oil in older engines

Eldridge, Iowa
I was wondering if it is a good idea to switch over to synthetic engine oil in tractors and vehicles that are at least 8-10 years old. I sure like the idea of changing oil less often and believe they are truly better oil and worth the extra money. I have heard from some that you should only use them when engines are newer. One oil dealer told me not to use them in engines that burn oil as the synthetics will burn more and foul up plugs. Any opinions? Thanks.
