No they are a programer and I think it takes 10-15 minutes to change the tune but they are capable of doing much more than anything on the market that's adjustable on the go. Here is the Smarty website so you can look at what they offer. I have an Edge Comp box on my '99 but for a common rail engine the Smarty is a much more capable unit.
