Subject: RE: How wide is a row?

Eastern Montana
Dont forget to throw in the beet rows from eastern Montana that are 24in with a few even running 26in. 22in seems to be the norm for the RRV and alot of other places. Sugar beets in europe tend to be in the 18in range. California sugar beets are on 30in. Everyone has a reason for why they picked the original row spacing on a farm and generally speaking they just stuck with that spacing cause it was to much to change every piece of machinery to a new spacing when it came to sugar beets. Currently we are on 22in for sugar beets, corn, and soybeans. Although no sugar beets planted this year.
