I am assuming you are talking about calibration. You can buy an electronic kitchen scale for about $50 that will weigh up to 10 or 11 pound and they are accurate down to an ounce or 2 grams on the metric scale, and with a digital read out. They are probably not very rugged, but you could make a padded box to protect it from most hazards.
