I think the older style JFK type democrats you should remove from your list. There are still a lot of people in America that fit that style. Their party has just moved away from them. Heck, a lot of times I feel that my Republican party has moved away from me. I am 95% conservative and that is not where the Republican party is right now. Hopefully it will change. I think a lot of good Democrats are holding out hope for their party also. The handful of activists that are calling the shots in both parties does not actually represent the true values of most Americans. (I HOPE) Sorry to gel political here but you started it. LOL!
