During this wet spell we decided to build a loft in the shop. It will be 32' by 7' 2". We are using 2x8s as floor joists, plywood floor and 6x6 posts 10' 8" apart. My question is, would a single 2x12 between the posts be enough to hold the loft, or should I nail two together to make a 3x12? Don't plan on putting large heavy items up there, but you never know.
