Subject: scraping noise in Ford F150 front end ?

Prairie Home MO
A couple of months ago I was going down Hwy around 60 MPH with my 2004 F150 4x4, automatic trans, and a scraping sound came from front end. When I stopped it stopped. I drove a little further and it did it again and again when I stopped it stopped. Didn't do it again for maybe a month, then again a couple of weeks ago. Same thing. It sounds like the four wheel drive is trying to engage or like a brake pad has come loose but it hadn't. Truck is going out of the 70k drive train warranty and dealer said would just have to hunt to find if not making noise when it comes in. Will charge if can't find anything related to drive train. Has anyone else had this problem or where to start looking? Thanks Robert
