| Depends too much on the corn number and the soil fertility to spout a number. In 2007 I planted some at 34K in 30" rows, did great. I ran out of seed because the planter spilled an extra couple thousand per acre and planted so left over seed. One number did just fine, one stood well, but at harvest the ears were only half full. So two out of those three probably could have been planted thicker, one was too thick already. Planting at the same seed spacing I used for 34K would give 28.3K in 36" rows. I read today of someone getting 41K with fine results by planting double row centered 38" apart. It all depends on your seed and your fertility.
