Thanks Jon. The old Makita with the swivel hinge is still holding up OK here so I guess I get to pass on the B&D clone for now.

For as adept at copying things as the Chinese are, it's a wonder they haven't discovered what Loc-tite is. Lacking that, I'd even settle for them making and using some lockwashers. Loose and missing bolts and screws and small pieces that they are supposed to attach aren't uncommon on the machinery they build and ship over here.
