I have used these containers http://www.oilsafesystem.com/ they are expensive but very good. You can see through them to see how much is in there, plus they have qt. markings on them. I have the 2.5 gallons and 5 qt ones. It keeps the oil clean and they empty quick using the "stumpy spout".
