Subject: putting new secondary hyd pump on 8410, how much oil will run out?

nc ks
Finally diagnosed the problem with the 8410 that would run the clean oil resevoir low. It finally did it to me when I was not using any external hydraulics so I know it wasn't how I have been hooking up my hyd motors. One of you guys hit it on the head, the secondary hydraulic pump on the right side of the tractor is bad and is bypassing too much oil. I am going to switch it out in the morning. It is 15 miles from home. How much oil drainage do I need to be prepared for? Do I need to drain the rear end sump before I start or is this pump isolated enough from it that I can catch less oil from just opening the lines that run to it? Thanks for all that helped with ideas, it really helped when I was talking to the JD tech and we gradually eliminated things.
