My dad bought a new 1020 21' in 1979 and is still on the farm today.
I agree that the 1020 is not the best leveling disk around but if you need it for heavy spring tillage, for the money you won't find a better cutting disk.

If you keep it around 5.5 MPH and keep a eye on the forward/back level you should be fine

If I'm not mistaken the 18' disk used the same frame as the 21' so you should have a blade weight advantage on the 18' disk
