I did it last year when rinsing the sprayer to put it away for winter. I turned the key to RUN but did not have the sprayer engine on. Then I turned on the solution pump switch to on. That allowed me to then turn the individual boom sections on and off as desired. I suspect the controller just needs to have the solution pump switch in the on position with electrical power on to allow power to go to the boom solenoids.

does that work for what you're doing. Are you going to have an on-board air system or just flush with air pressure from an air compressor. I just used the air supply from our shop with an adaptor to the 2" fill. Seemed to work well.
