No experience with the 1770, but we have these units on our 1760. They work really well, last year we didn't have the floating wheels on it so i thought they didn't work the best in low trash instances. As far as the units, they can take the strain, its really not much more pressure on them then any other coulter setup on the market. If you need fertilizer 2 inches to the side of the seed these work well were nothing else will work.
