Brazilton KS | There have been two or three of those type incidents which I have read about, out of who knows how many tanks in service. I believe I read that there was found to be an issue with the hydrostatic relief valve in at least one of the cases, and the tank was overfilled.
A lot of the 1000 gallon tanks out there...probably most of them....date to the '60s or the '70s. When they were built the welds were inspected in random areas. Today I think they are checked 100%. I plan to get ours tested before next year. | |
