One thing to consider, I would pay more for a used 4000 watt RV generator that runs quiet and smooth at 1800 rpm, VS a cheap new box store 4000 watt that howls along at 3600 rpm. Much better quality and likely run 10 times as long. There is good reason that the RV gensets cost so much new.
