Subject: Which chipping hammer?

Chebanse, IL.....

In a thread below re. air chisels, some of you recommended going to chipping hammers. It looks like they're substantially more machine & money, but perhaps necessary if one finds it takes more oomph.

So, looking at these Ingersoll models, which one would work well for a farm shop? 2"? 3"? Looks like 4" might be more akin to a jack-hammer? At any rate, 17-20# isn't anything you'd want to hold over your head & work with for very long.

Other than saying "they're better....". does anyone have personal experience w/the chipping hammers?

Thanks
