| some jackbutt tried to shift the transmission from Park into 3-4 reverse without shifting to Neutral first, and he has broken the small hardened steel pin off the interlock trunnion, The interlock trunnion is on the very bottom of the shift lever assembly.. That pin holds the park mechanism in "neutral" while the rest of the shifter is moving forward. Don't put off fixing it; without that interlock pin, the park linkage can be knocked into Park with very little force. A stiff cornstalk can hit the lower park bellcrank and flip it into Park while moving. | |
