Hastings, NE | Does anyone on here have any experience with the older John Deere 200 series skid steers. Something like a 240, 250, 260, 270, 280. I have just started looking around for one. I can't justify new but saw a 260 with 1500 hours in decent shape for $16000 and started dreaming. I tried doing some research on the web about reliability and found one site that said they were junk. They said they were difficult to get into, plagued with leaks and that the motors were junk. I noticed the new 300 series are using 5 cylinder engines now instead the the 3 cylinder motors they were using.
I am looking forward to any and all experiences with any brand. I am not bound to any brand but don't want something that will cost a lot to keep running. I will not be using on a daily basis. Just something to help out with maintaining an acreage and landscaping. | |
