Subject: RE: Antique Clipper Cleaner

Our extended family shares the use of a Clipper 2 that grandpa bought in 1951, when electricity first came through. Myself, my cousin, and three uncles combined probablly clean 10 to 20 tons a year in the little wooden machine. As it's my turn to use it, I just hauled it off the truck into the barn granary yesterday. This year's crop plan is in all purchased wheat seed; only need to clean my own oats for sale as seed for my neighbour.

We have the bagging elevator, and at least 12 different screens. The local farm museum has one of the same model, but it obviously doesn't look like it had the same amount of use as ours. I haven't started to clean this year yet, but if remember right, it might do 500 lbs / hour of oats. Keeping the intake hopper full won't keep you hopping.
