Subject: questions about synthetic grease

I've been looking on the net at synthetic greases, the type you would use in a gun on machinery, farm and construction. Seems a lot of ones that claim to be synthetic are actually blends with petro based products of one sort or another. Mobil 1 is the only one that I've seen that doesn't talk about blended parifins.

One of our biggest problems with things we grease is buckets and hinge points on const. machinery. They get dried out and you end up digging them out to get them to take grease again. I've been told that synthetics will help with that problem.

I look at the cost of grease as a minor item, compared to the time and labor etc associated with it. If we can buy a product that proves to be better than what we are using I'm all for it.

FWIW we are using Deere's best multi purpose grease in 35 lb pails and we get Cat's top of the line grease in 15 gallon barrels to use with an air dispenser.

Thanks for any advice.

Ray
