Subject: Re: Deere CCS Planter Owners - vacuum motors and remotes question

Driftless SW Wisconsin

I am sorry to interupt this thread, however I do get this question all the time with our new Gfx hydraulic  remote adjust floating row cleaners.

Question: Can't you run the two vacuum motors (on a 24R30 1770NT) in series on one remote? They cannot require that much hp I would think. Why take up TWO remotes just to run two small motors. When running in series the outlet of one motor is plumbed to the input on the other.

HP is total pressure drop times flow divided by a constant. The motors should be good for up to 2500 to 3000 psi input and at the flow modern tractors can put out I can not see a problem running these fans in series. They just don't take that much hp.

About case drain - as pointed out above the vacuum motor case drains MUST go to the yellow "Tank" port on the back of the tractor, NOT into an SCV return. We tee our Dawn tank port into that on our valve block. Very little flow and no pressure. Keeps the fittings to minimum and only one hose across the hitch for drains.

Thanks for any help.
