southern MN | Is this the bearing (2 actually) that are on the stub shaft by the wheel - with the variable sheave on it, other end to the clutch?
Takes about 45 minutes. Well, on mine, it would go out every year. Dad had it turned & Timkin bearings put in, then it lasted 18 months between failures. So I got pretty good at it. Might take a little longer for a first timer. Removing the front wheel is the easiest route to go by far. Pull the sheave off, unbolt the bolts around the bell housing & be careful, it will drop on you. Got my machine used, and it had a _tiny_ bit of frame torched out & mine would drop right out, not sure it needs that clearance or if you have issues without?
