Some emery cloth from a roll, a bit of skunk p*ss of your choice. Not as bad as it looks really. Don't need to go far, maybe 8- 10" at most. Judgement call on the bearings, if the metal seal/cover plate on the bearings look like any are lifting up.. then replace for sure. Once you get the clutch pins out, you will be able to feel if the bearings are feeling rough by rotating the shaft. If one is suspect....toss the rest in as well.

I didn't need the heat wrench doing mine.... and it was/is the 8 X 36 solid frame 7000. On mine, one side drove the trans... other side was for fertilizer drive.
