Somerville, Indiana
is a 24 inch double wall plastic corrigated pipe with 73s [small gravel and lime] packed around it with 4 inch and 2 inch limestone for the crossing above the pipe and on the approaches...low tide runs thru the 24 and floods go over it...some concrete poured as a footing on the inlet end of the 24 if it would make you feel better about the installation...wood have to take a lot of dirt away to make the approaches, but it would be a permanent 'safe' fix...outlet of the 24 would need to be six inches below the flow line 200 ft below the installation to assure it wouldn't wash out.

about 1/2 the FOB cost of the tank car.
