Fruita CO
I think I posted about the baffle inside the valve cover, it's not a screen, just a flat piece that turns the stream & causes the oil to drip off. Now that I'm thinking about it, I can't visualize exactly what the 50 series looks like, but it will be inside the cover, right under the fitting in the middle where the breather tube comes out. If you pull your valve cover off & look inside, the baffle will be loose in there if that's your problem. 30 series had the tube at the back end, & the baffle was glued in, they would fall out once in a while. Like I say, I'm not positive what a 50 looks like...(CRS)...something else you might do is measure exactly how much oil it takes to fill to the full mark, some engines had the dipstick nipple not pressed in far enough, & they were a quart overfull. It was impossible to keep that top quart in there..
