Subject: Re: Center flex planter

I don't think that Deere makes a sixteen row middle flex. All I have seen from them are ones that flex after the middle six rows.

Kinze 2700 and 3700 flex in the middle on 16 rows. We run a 3700 24 row 20" and love the way it handles our hills. I personally think that only having the 1 flex point that splits the planter into two 20 foot sections plants better on terraces than planters that have a rigid 15 foot center with two 12.5 foot wings, in the trough of a one sided grass terrace that 15 foot center will be too wide and your two middle rows may not be touching the ground and on top of a farmable terrace your outer two rows on the middle 15 foot center may not be touching the ground. That's just been my experience on our ground.

Also Great plains yield pro's with the large tires comes in a 16 row that flexes in the middle.

I also believe wilrich makes a bar that flexes in the middle that is 40 feet but have personally never seen one in action.
