Subject: RE: John Deere STS Wrench Sizes

Seems like 13, 15, 18, and 24 are the most common used on our STS. A 15/16" will work as a 24 and most of the time, a 3/4" will work as an 18 but it is a tad big so if its really tight, the 3/4 might slip. There are several spring belt tensioners and most of them take an 18mm. I cut an 18mm socket in half and welded a piece of pipe about 5 or 6" long in between the two halves so it will go all the way on the tensioners. It makes quick work of loosening them with an impact or air ratchet. The first time I used it more than made up for the little bit of time and money it took to make it. I would reccomend making one to have on hand before you need it.

P.S. ours is a 50 series but I assume that most of the belt routing and tighteners are the same on a 60
