Subject: Re: Chinese ATV ?

Alberta, Canada
I have several of them for the kids. I wouldn't recomend them over 250cc. The smaller kid ones are ok depending on brand. We have a 150cc CVT trans, raptor style one that actually is really good. We are quite happy with it. However I bought a 110 shaft drive model first in 2005 which was poorly built, I have fixed it now and it works ok. To do it again I wish I would have just bought a couple of these 150's made buy Jetmoto. http://www.jetmotocanada.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=s... I got the 150 in 2007 on sale for like 800 bucks less then I paid for that damn 110 in 2005! THere is no comparison in quads between the 110 and 150. The distributor is in Alberta and for Chinese ATV's they are pretty good. They only stock a small line up of ATV's that are good sellers. The 150 is a really good quad for 10-14 year old. The 250 is pretty well built also but its a sport model which I'd have no use for. Beware though not all chinese ATV's are the same!!! People will tell you parts are a problem but I've never had a problem as there is zillions of sites online to order parts from.

As mentioned below I just bought a 350 Kodiac 4x4. I looked at the Chinese ones but they were over priced as far as I was concerned compared to how reasonable the Yamaha's were. THe kids 250cc and smaller ATVS are usally 1/3 the cost of mainline quads. The Chinese 4x4's however are only 10 to 15% less then mainline quads in the sizes I was looking at Also with Chinse atv's the less moving parts and gear boxes the better!!! The kids chain drive chinese quads I don't mind tinkering on now and then. I couldn't imagine a 4x4 chinese ATV with all the extra stuff on there to worry about if it wasn't built great.
