Mean Gene did that on his 2255 alky burner now known as Silver Bullet. The tractor never killed him immediately but the blood clot in his leg did later. He was thrown off.
I forget how long it took Lyle Hull to recover from his HP test in the field, but it was a long time and now Aarron pulls it, never made it to 80 years old on the track.
