Another plus for the trailer- you can drop it and do something else with the truck while waiting for it to be loaded/unloaded.

DelMarvaAg didn't mention his current truck capacity, flatbed or box if he's got a dually, bumper vs gooseneck in the trailer equation, or how many pallets a typical load could be, either.  I'm assuming he doesn't want to move 32 pallets at a time though.  A flexible solution would be a straight truck of some kind combined with a bumper or tag trailer for flexibility and extra capacity, and vary the size of each with the anticipated typical load.  With a trip with two or more customers/drops, he could drop the trailer at the first place, have the customer sign and then unload while he's hitting the second drop with the truck, and then pick up the trailer on the return trip.  Saves time if the customer is slow unloading and the driver can hook it back up quickly when he returns.  If he's got a 3/4 ton diesel w/ factory box already, then a gooseneck deckover would probably be the cheapest way to haul a decent amount with the smallest expense.
