Devils Lake, ND | They were at least as good as any other FC of that era. If it has 9" spacing, it should do pretty well in chopped and chiseled stalks. (I assume that's what you were referring to.) But, as another poster said, the harrow has to work harder. If the budget allows, I would like a 5 row tine harrow followed by an Unverferth double rolling basket. Many guys would prefer a DMI crumber.
Besides the aforementioned difference in sweeps (Make sure your sweeps are 1" wider than your shank spacing.), keep a few spare shanks on hand. They are good shanks because they don't have moving parts, but can "snag" obstacles easier, because they don't ahve moving parts. | |
