Wouldn't the #10 size have done the same thing or did I miss something? It sounds like the 08s' you're using are too small to keep the pressure high enough?
For what it's worth, you can get a gasket that fits around the orifice disc & can ge used in place of the regular gasket. Teejet #CP18999-EPR
That would have let you delete the extensions.
We've got those on the shelf if interested.
