30-40% sounds like way to much variation. Yes some hybrids will dry different but I haven't seen anywhere near that much variation. Our dryer is always pretty near it's advertised bph. Its a 30 year old dryer and we grow a lot of BT corn. So i would say that theory is false in expierence. I do agree that you will see field to field differences in drying rates even at the same moisture... just not 30-40%.
