Leesburg, Ohio | Just fixed the exact same problem on ours about two weeks ago...new hydraulic pump (about $400), and re-sealed the steering pump, problem solved. Ours overflowed the hydraulic reserve tank with oil from the hydrostatic gear case coming thru the steering pump into the hydraulic pump, and lost steering. Re-filled the hydrostatic gear case, and limped it a mile to the shop. The shaft and bushings were bad in the hydraulic pump, otherwise could probably have re-sealed it, also. Didn't have to get into the hydrostatic pump at all. Good luck. | |
