Subject: Re: Is there a difference in chainsaw bar quality?

I had an old Husky saw that gave out after 20 years of use. I replaced it with a similar size Husky but right off the bat it would throw the chain (working in tough caraganas) - even brand new ones. Each time it threw off the chain was ruined. Finally I put the bar off the old one on the new one and that solved the problem. The new bar was a couple inches longer but a lot narrower than the old one. I thought maybe the lighter bar was flexing enough in tough going to let the chain jump. The new saw has worked perfectly ever since with the old bar.
