Fan selection software where you can select crop type and bin size to get the estimated hp requirements for desired air flow and select different fan types and see how they should work. It's about 10 years old but it is still useful. If you scroll down on the page there is a link to download either the DOS version or the Windows version.
I used 52 ft. diameter by 70 ft. depth and with a desired airflow of .1 cfm/bu which is what all universities that i've heard of require for aeration required 10.78 hp. In my opinion we like more than .1 cfm but universities claim that's all you need. I checked for .25 cfm/bu and it would take about 90 hp.
The roof fans are power vents. They help reduce condensation in the peak of the bin by pulling out the damp and warm air but they do not pull air up through the grain.
