Greenleaf, WI | We have 2 mf1105's the first one we bought in 1983, right now it has over 10,000 hours on. All we ever did was put a new clutch in and since it was already in the shop and had 8,000 hours on at the time we had the engine overhauled. The Perkins engine tend to put out some black smoke, but other than that they are reliable and fairly fuel efficient. The cabs are fairly quiet for when they were built and even without working ac they don't get too hot in summer with the side window and door open. You are always going to grind some gears when shifting but we never had a problem with the transmissions. However, if you can try to avoid doing heavy drawbar work in high multipower as the disc with get hot and warp. We would not hesitate to buy another 1105 or 1135. | |
