Lost one kidney in an accident 42 years ago.  I was 16 years old at the time.  Only problem I experienced was psychological.  After I got over the idea that I was somehow going to die within a few years due to the loss of the kidney I went on with my life.   Farmed and worked another job for years.  Probably have not take as good of care of myself as I should have but have made it this long without any problems which can be attributed to losing the kidney.

Just look at family medical history to determine if there are any health problems which affect the kidneys.  If there are this is something to be aware of in the future.  Other than that just try to maintain a somewhat healthy lifestyle and there will be no problems.
