Subject: Re: JD 750 drill question

The Needham V8 and the SDX firming wheel are both major improvements over the Deere firming wheels (including their new 'narrow' one introduced in '07) due to most of the wheel body being made of rubber to flex and follow the furrow, as well as being narrower than Deere's. I've spent a lot of time evaluating these, as well as other prototypes that were being tested by Deere and Needham a few years ago. The SDX firming wheel is still the best, but Needham V8 is decent.

-- btw, this is discussed and depicted in detail in Exapta's DVD 'No-Till Seeding Explained.'
