Northeast ND | Yes, all of the 88 series were closed center. It is easy to tell which 86 series have the newer hydraulics because they will have flow control levers below the hydraulic levers in the cab similar to the 88 series.
We had an Ace hydraulic driven sprayer pump that worked fine on our 1086 with old style hydraulics, it had a screw on the side of the hyd motor that you could adjust. I don't know if any of the Hypro pumps would work very well. You can go to both of their websites and find information as to what motors work with what tractors.
