Subject: Re: which round baler

We had a older Vermeer baler which was real picky about baling and it did not like wild hay as you better have some kind of knife along to cut the rollers out but I'm sure the newer ones are better now. We've had a JD 535 and a 567 for 3 years now and I like everything about the JD better except for the pickup. The Vermeer has a better floating pickup I think and it isn't nearly as hard on teeth. I have a neighbor that custom bales and he had Vermeer for years and switched to JD last year and bought new JD's for this year also. Resale I would think would be better with the JD and around my area there isn't a lot of Vermeer balers.
